There are many ways to go on a road trip, and today we're going to help you choose between converting your car or van and a roof tent. Yes, because, as you can imagine, there's no universal answer. It all depends on your tastes, your needs and the way you travel. Let's take a look at the advantages and disadvantages of a converted van and a roof tent.

The advantages of travelling in a converted van

When it's raining, some people prefer to stay dry and cover themselves up under a blanket with a hot chocolate to watch a film, while others prefer to breathe in the fresh air at the top of their lungs.

We're clearly part of this team!

Our recommendation: The Kampa Trip

The good news is that thanks to the Kampa Trip awning, we can do both, extending the surface area of our converted car and continuing to eat outside. Thanks to the integrated ground sheet, you can store your shoes without them getting wet, and increase the storage space inside your vehicle by taking out bulky items such as camping tables and chairs.

It's a real plus when you have a van converted into a camper van, to make sure you're ready to go in any weather!

For waste management

Bring large garbage bags

Garbage bags are a must-have when you're mopping, of course they store your trash but they can be much more useful than that 😁.

Unfortunately, it's not uncommon to find a lot of garbage near parking areas or areas reserved for motorhomes, polluting the environment. To avoid this, it's a good idea to walk around the vehicle before leaving and check that no garbage has been left on the ground.

Contrary to popular belief, even organic waste is not necessarily good for the environment. Garbage bags are essential for disposing of your waste and preserving natural areas, but they can also be used for other purposes.
